See Ai results in Google Search Console – Coming Soon!

If you are actively monitoring Google Search Console, and wishing that you could tell whether the impressions are of regular old Search Results, or if they are snippets generated by Google’s Ai, soon you will be able to find this out.

According to Google, the data will be posted under Search Type.

Website owners are considerably (and reasonably) anxious about the use of Ai snippets over the traditional search results as the snippets provide information to the user without requiring a click through to the website.  Navigating this change requires a shift in thinking about your website content.  Rather than focusing heavily on key words, you need to have a focus on depth of content.  This is especially true with the introduction of ChatGPT and other LLM’s (Learning Language Models) as people begin to use them to find resources.

To ensure that you are creating content that Google will view as showing Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness and Trustworthiness (EEAT), use the content recommendations of the BASE3 model.

Below is a link to Google’s help article regarding Ai features of their platform.
